Will the Irish Government and public service unions agree a new public sector pay deal by November 30, 2026?

How likely is it? Give your forecast and join the debate on Krowdcast.

Settles Yes if, by 30 November 2026, the Government and the public service unions (the ICTU Public Services Committee) announce that they have agreed the terms of a new public service pay agreement, such as proposals agreed at the Workplace Relations Commission and put to members. Union ballots do not need to be finished. Talks on a framework alone, or a deal rejected by negotiators, do not count. Formal talks were due to begin at the WRC on 19 October, after strikes on 14 October.

Closes 30 Nov 2026. Settled by Government of Ireland and ICTU announcements.
